Heartburn. Heartburn is a painful, burning feeling in the
chest, usually behind the breast bone. It is a form of indigestion


Some foods may cause heartburn;

  • Alcohol
  • Coffee, tea, cola, etc.
  • Chocolate
  • Citrus fruits and juices
  • Tomatoes and tomato sauces (such as pizza and pasta sauce)
  • Spicy foods and fatty foods (including full-fat dairy products)
  • Peppermint and spearmint
  • Fatty Foods


  • Eating big meals
  • Eating before bed

It has also been linked to;


Painful tightening or burning feeling in the chest. You may think that you
have acid in the back of your throat or food especially when laying down,


  • Over the counter medication
  • For severe cases, surgery
